Orc Generator Creates 20 Orcs In 20 Seconds

Today I show you how I used the new goblin generator in Campaign Logger as an orc generator to create d20 orcs in under half a minute.

But first, a quick backstory.

Vargulf drank out of a magical pool. It made him forever afraid of orcs.

There’s a half-orc in the party. Kriv. That doesn’t always go so well.

Kriv quested to find his missing mother. She turned up in Triboar, a city that’s recently been overrun by the Broken Arrow orcs who declared themselves free citizens of the Realms and unshackled.

In addition, an army of orcs now roams the countryside, keeping the region free of those who might dare oppose the new orc society.

So I need an orc generator to have a bunch of orc NPC seeds in my back pocket for a variety of upcoming encounters.

And here’s how I built them using the newest feature of Campaign Logger.

Step 1. Use The New Goblin Generator As Orc Generator

I click the generate button and spin up 20 goblin NPC seeds:

  1. Gokk Winterwind, who frequently speaks to an ordinary weapon and treats it as the most valuable item in the world.
  2. Garuk, who has a penchant for dragons, but can’t pronounce the word properly, calling them “dagorns” instead.
  3. Grik, who has a great number of body piercings of decoratively carved pieces of bone.
  4. Vudzak Stormscar, who is narcoleptic, always yawning and drowsy, and sometimes simply curls up in a ball and falls asleep.
  5. Dulzak Whitechill, who is completely hairless and has blotchy skin of various shades and tints of green, serving as a form of natural camouglage outdoors.
  6. Jank Bitterwing, who has few teeth and even those remaining are in a state of severe decay, but nonetheless frequently smiles proudly.
  7. Dwar Hailkiss, who wheezes loudly constantly and becomes out of breath while conducting even the simplest activities.
  8. Felkis, who wears a trophy necklace of small rodent tails that looks ridiculous and smells horribly.
  9. Jank, who has eyes of two different colors and when speaking to others moves up close and opens them wide so they are easily noticed.
  10. Jubbuk Stormgust, who always attempts to grapple foes, usually going for the shins and ankles with unusually sharp teeth.
  11. Dagix Diregust, who is deathly afraid of books and writing, believing that such things consume one’s soul during their creation.
  12. Ilbuk Blackstrike, who is mute but often sneers and growls at just about anything and everything.
  13. Garuk, who stutters horribly whenever speaking, made worse by frantic gesturing in an attempt to communicate.
  14. Telg, who is often heard speaking to other unseen goblins, often carrying on long conversations and arguments.
  15. Ulgle, who shivers constantly as if cold or suffering from some sort of uncontrollable muscle spasms.
  16. Zorig Darkbreath, who wears an absurd chicken headdress that usually looks like it’s about to slip off and fall to the ground.
  17. Nagboz Bitterwind, who is fearful of trees after a past encounter with a treant and savagely attacks any tree nearby to be sure it’s not another one.
  18. Ertyk Coldfang, who likes to eat just about anything, including dirt, leaves, wood, paper, and just about anything else that is even remotely edible.
  19. Poix Stormgust, who is missing an ear, claiming it simply fell off in the midst of a great battle and was never found.
  20. Azgog Darkbite, who occasionally hallucinates and begins waving both hands frantically in the air as if fending off a swarm of insects.

Step 2. Generate Orc Names

The goblin name generator is tuned to serious-style goblin names. They could pass for orc names, but I want to use the new generator for goblin names in the future.

My favourite random name generator site these days is fantasynamegenerators.com.

So I go to the orc generator there and spin up 20 names. http://fantasynamegenerators.com/orc_names.php

  1. Wokganit
  2. Nildud
  3. Zurpigig
  4. Meakgu
  5. Borgan
  6. Orakh
  7. Gholug
  8. Vrothu
  9. Urbul
  10. Vrograg
  11. Gharol
  12. Arob
  13. Gluronk
  14. Borgakh
  15. Grazob
  16. Urog
  17. Borgakh
  18. Murob
  19. Dura
  20. Badbog

Step 3. Orc Spit & Polish

I then quickly read the entries and tweak them to be a bit more orc-like and change details to mesh with my campaign.

For example, #3 Dulzak/Zurpigig I change from green skin to red. And #2 and #7 I change to dwarf, in honour of Vargulf. 🙂

And finally, I swap out the names. Giving me these 20 bad boys and girls in about 20 seconds of work:

  1. Badbog, who frequently speaks to an ordinary weapon and treats it as the most valuable item in the world.
  2. Urog, who has a penchant for dragons, but can’t pronounce the word properly, calling them “dagorns” instead.
  3. Wokganit, who has a great number of body piercings of decoratively carved pieces of dwarf bone.
  4. Nildud, who is narcoleptic, always yawning and drowsy, and sometimes simply curls up in a ball and falls asleep.
  5. Zurpigig, who is completely hairless and has blotchy skin of various shades and tints of red, serving as a form of natural camouflage.
  6. Meakgu, who has few teeth and even those remaining are in a state of severe decay, but nonetheless frequently smiles proudly.
  7. Borgan, who wheezes loudly constantly and becomes out of breath while conducting even the simplest activities.
  8. Orakh, who wears a trophy necklace of dwarf ears that looks ridiculous and smells horribly.
  9. Gholug, who has eyes of two different colors and when speaking to others moves up close and opens them wide so they are easily noticed.
  10. Vrothu, who always attempts to grapple foes, usually going for the shins and ankles with unusually sharp teeth.
  11. Urbul, who is deathly afraid of books and writing, believing that such things consume one’s soul during their creation.
  12. Vrograg, who is mute but often sneers and growls at just about anything and everything.
  13. Gharol, who stutters horribly whenever speaking, made worse by frantic gesturing in an attempt to communicate.
  14. Arob, who is often heard speaking to other unseen orcs, often carrying on long conversations and arguments.
  15. Gluronk, who shivers constantly as if cold or suffering from some sort of uncontrollable muscle spasms.
  16. Borgakh, who wears an absurd chicken headdress that usually looks like it’s about to slip off and fall to the ground.
  17. Grazob, who is fearful of trees after a past encounter with a treant and savagely attacks any tree nearby to be sure it’s not another one.
  18. Borgakh, who likes to eat just about anything, including dirt, leaves, wood, paper, and just about anything else that is even remotely edible.
  19. Murob, who is missing an ear, claiming it simply fell off in the midst of a great battle and was never found.
  20. Dura, who occasionally hallucinates and begins waving both hands frantically in the air as if fending off a swarm of insects.
